Red Tab Scholars

History

In 2008, the Red Tab Foundation established a scholarship program to assist Levi Strauss & Co. employees' children who have enrolled in two to four-year college or accredited vocational programs. These dependents' scholarships, renewable for up to three additional years, have been awarded to almost 300 students in 16 countries around the world including Australia, Bangladesh, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Hungary, India, Japan, Mexico, Philippines, Poland, South Africa, Turkey, and the United States.

The program, funded in part by a one million dollar gift from Bob and Colleen Haas, is a terrific supplement to the Foundation's emergency aid and asset-building programs. Operated by Scholarship Management Services, its number one criteria is demonstration of need (75%) followed by merit (25%). To date, more than $1,041,880 has been funded to support employees and their families' futures.
